‘Uncle Tim’: The Leftist Mob Slanders Sen. Tim Scott With Racial Epithet on Twitter

Woke progressives, outraged at Senator Tim Scott’s refusal to denounce America as a systemically racist country, tweeted racist insults at him.

The South Carolina Senator delivered a beautiful rebuttal speech after President Biden’s “boring but radical” address to Congress. He addressed the race-baiting that politicians, corporations, and the mainstream media have weaponized to maintain power and garner wealth.

“From colleges to corporations to our culture, people are making money and gaining power by pretending we haven’t made any progress at all; by doubling down on the divisions we’ve worked so hard to heal,” he explained. The following statement turned out to his most controversial, “Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country.” With those forbidden words, Scott triggered the dregs of the leftist mob who then lashed out on Twitter. For hours afterwards, the racial slur “Uncle Tim” was a trending topic on Twitter, as users unleashed their hatred on Scott, who happens to be the only current black Republican Senator.

Twitter eventually removed “Uncle Tim” from the trending sidebar but the damage had already been done. Numerous celebrities and political commentators published incriminating tweets bashing Scott for his critique on the false narrative of race issues in America. As if to prove that racism is indeed an issue in American society, twitter users attacked Scott with explicitly racist statements.

In a since-deleted tweet, radio and television personality Scott Nevins characterized Scott as “uncle Tom’ing it for his life” and said that “South Carolina should be ashamed” of its senator. Embarrassingly for him, Nevins backtracked and submitted an apology for the “ironic joke” he attempted and for using the term “Uncle Tom” in reference to Scott.

Militant leftist and writer behind the “Black Minds Matter” newsletter, Touré tweeted, “Tim Scott gets called Uncle Tom by progressives. But he’s an Uncle Tim.” His twitter feed is a sequence of similar race-baiting statements. Touré just cannot let the racism thing go! Scott’s statements probably stung him so particularly because his relevance lasts only so long as he can keep the racism narrative going.

The “Uncle Tim” slur was repeated by “Community” and “Drake & Josh” actress Yvette Nicole Brown. She tweeted that “Uncle Tim” lost her “when he said Biden was dividing us” accusing Scott of sitting by as “Tang [Trump] destroyed this country for four years.”

CNN commentator Keith Boykin shared his own ridiculous take on Scott’s speech, that “Tim Scott is a shameless liar. America is and always has been a racist country.”

“Everybody Hates Chris” actress Tichina Arnold was so horrified by Scott’s rebuttal that she tweeted her “prayer this morn, is that our growing, black youth, never hear another speech from a black man like Tim Scott’s last night. Never.” She certainly would not want them being exposed to other points of view and daring to think they are not helpless victims being hunted for sport by white people.

White liberal pundit Matthew Dowd tweeted, “Until senator Tim Scott stops pushing falsehoods and starts confronting the racism and white supremacy throughout his own party and hold those accountable who incited an insurrection I really don’t want to hear him lecture on anything.” That’s right, Dowd whitesplained that this American black man cannot voice original takes until he first bows to the mob.

It is unconscionable for anyone to say America is not systemically racist, and even worse for a black man such as Scott to have said so. He refused to play into the victim mentality normal politicians play up and for that the mob sought to victimize him. Scott is no stranger to this type of discrimination, however. Honorably, he addressed the haters – “What they want for us is to stay in a small corner and not go against the tide that they think is America.” Scott called out the left’s shameful intolerance saying, “It is stunning in 2021 that those who speak about ending discrimination want to end it by more discrimination.”

Scott’s merit multiplies the more he receives criticism for his pro-American beliefs.
